Harry Cook

MENU:
Jim Tranbarger prepared sliced pears, biscuits and gravy. Jim
Wollard brought a special blend of Jimmy Dean sausage grilled over apple
wood.
Treasurers
report by Raymond Hardman:
The current bank
balance is $526.22. Today, we received $60 in collections for men’s
breakfast and the food cost was only $22.81.
Business:
Jerome and the
boy scouts planted a tree. The tractor tire got fixed.
Jim Tranbarger
said the session has set aside the Jim Staley funds ($200) and an
additional $200 in a special fund to help those folks with emergency
needs. Harry Cook and Bill Gilmore have coordinated with Pastor
Lorraine to contact the other Willard area churches to form an alliance
to help folks with emergency needs.
Merlyn Goodson
said the decision was made to continue rotating the Easter Sunrise
service & breakfast between churches like we had done in the past. We
need to be better prepared by having extra tables set up in additional
rooms to accommodate the extra large crowd.
Debbie Burks
administers distributions to needy children for the Willard School
District. Jerome Rader will ask Debbie what she anticipates her needs
will be over the next few months, so the men’s group can offer some
financial assistance.
The Men’s Group
officers will remain the same for 2010; Harry Cook president, Raymond
Hardman treasurer, Mark Shull secretary.
Merlyn Goodson
brought up the sweet heart breakfast that is coming up in February and
suggested we get some new decorations this year. The ones we had been
using were getting old and not looking so good any more. It was
suggested that he ask Mark Hardman for some assistance with decorating
ideas.
The Sweet Heart
Breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, February 14th.
The Phonevite
system that Harry Cook used to remind everyone about Men’s Breakfast has
worked very well.
The next men’s
breakfast meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 24th at 7:30 AM.
