Sarah Ella "Sally" Kauffmann
1931 - 2008
Sarah Ella "Sally" Kauffmann, 77, of Willard, passed on Wednesday,
December 3, 2008, at 8:45 p.m., in her home, following an extended
illness. Sally was born in Parma, Ohio, and was formerly of the
Fairfield, Pa. area, moving to Willard, Mo., five years ago. She
graduated from Parma Schaff High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and
had been a manager of the bookstore of the Lutheran Theological Seminary
in Gettysburg, Pa. She was a member of Willard, Mo., Mt. Zion
Presbyterian Church, and was active in the Willard Senior Citizens.
Sarah "Sally" Holland and Glenn Kauffmann were united in marriage on
April 5, 1953. To this union, five children were born. Together they
were privileged to share over 55 years. She was preceded in death by a
son, Daniel M. in May of 1983; her parents, Herschel G. and Letitia Rice
Holland; and two sisters, Betty Jean DeGeralamo and Margaret Anne
Handel. She is survived by her husband, Glenn; one son, Curtis and wife,
Claire Kauffmann of Willard, Mo.; three daughters, Bridget and husband
Jeffery Carver of Columbia, Md., Lisa and husband, Dennis Hawbaker of
Gettysburg, Pa., and Rebecca and husband, Anthony Smith of Calabash,
N.C.; and eight grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Monday,
December 8, 2008, at 10 a.m., in Willard, Mo. Mt. Zion Presbyterian
Church, with Pastor Lorraine Dill officiating, under the care and
direction of Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove. Inurnment will
be at a later time in Evergreen Cemetery, Veteran Section, in
Gettysburg, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given
to the American Cancer Association. |
